Los Angeles Times Dinner Series presented by City National Bank is a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Guests will enjoy exclusive menus from Southern California's most notable restaurants while joining virtual live conversations between L.A.’s premier chefs, celebrities and the L.A. Times editorial team from the comfort of home.

For this exciting awards season L.A. Times Dinner Series event, join international chef and cookbook author Enrique Olvera and Mexican documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and award-winning director Fernando Frias de la Parra for an evening of fun conversation around food and entertainment. Enjoy a 4-course gourmet Mexican meal from chef Enrique’s Cosme restaurant in New York and Damian in Los Angeles.

Cosme and Damian, the bicoastal twins, will be preparing different takes on the same Mexican menu using local ingredients and recognizing the unique seasonality of each city. Guests will tune in to an exciting conversation hosted by L.A. Times Entertainment Columnist Carolina A. Miranda while enjoying the meal. Plus, L.A. Times celebrity photographer Jay L. Clendenin will share a behind the scenes look at his work with this year's awards season nominees and afterwards, stay tuned to watch an interview with some of the best film directors of 2020.


Cosme, New York

  • Snack: Rainbow Carrot Escabeche
  • To Start: Potato and Broccoli Tamal with Baked Potato, Broccoli Crema, Wasabi (Dairy, Allium)
  • Main: Duck carnitas: Radish, Onion, Cilantro. Served with Salsas, Tortillas
  • Dessert: Corn Husk Meringue
  • Specialty cocktail from Casa Dragones
  • Still & sparkling water from Aqua Panna and San Pellegrino

Damian, Los Angeles

  • Snack: Shishito Escabeche
  • To Start: Tamal with Morel Mushroom, Poblano Crema (Dairy, Allium)
  • Main: Costillas Enmoladas - Pork Ribs and Belly, Kimchi, Mole Negro (Nuts, Allium). Served with Salsas, Tortillas.
  • Dessert: Hibiscus Meringue, Strawberry
  • Cocktail Pairing: House of Suntory "Roku White Negroni" - Roku Japanese Gin, Blanc Vermouth, Suze, Grapefruit Garnish
  • Still & sparkling water from Aqua Panna and San Pellegrino

Tickets are $105 and include a 4 course meal, a cocktail, bottles of still & sparkling water from Aqua Panna and San Pellegrino, a Dinner Series branded oven mitt, a tote bag, and access to the live Zoom event at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.

Vegetarian menu available upon request.

Some food preparation will be required at home.


Los Angles Pick up location: Damian, 2132 E 7th Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90021

New York pick up location: Cosme, 35 E 21st St, New York, NY 10010

Pick up details: You will be receiving and email with your specific meal pick up time. Meal pickup time will be between 1:30-3:30 in from Damian in L.A. and 2:30-4:30 from Cosme in N.Y. on Saturday, April 24. To ensure public safety and social distancing, guests will receive detailed instructions and designated time slots outlining when to pick up dinner packages prior to the scheduled online conversation experience.

Guests will re-heat and plate the prepared meal at home while tuning in to the event at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET.

All guests must be 21+. Guests must show I.D. when picking up dinner package at the restaurant. Due to the nature of this event, we are unable to issue refunds. All sales are final.
