WAYS TO GIVE

Project Angel Food is a community-funded organization. We depend on the generosity of our neighbors, local businesses, corporations, and foundations for the funds to keep our doors open, our pots bubbling, and our vans on the road. In 2019, individual donors like you contributed 36% of our total revenue. Your donations, in any amount, make it possible for us to prepare and deliver healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illness.

CHARITY RATING

Project Angel Food has achieved the highest standards set by Charity Navigator.

GUARDIAN SOCIETY

Join our Guardian Society with a gift to Project Angel Food through your estate or financial portfolio. Gifts at this level help stabilize our long-term finances and nourish our seriously ill neighbors well into the future. For more information, please contact Campaign Director Bill McDermott or Philanthropy Officer Jared Ross.

BENEFICIARY DESIGNATIONS – Did you know many estate assets may be transferred outside of your will? Project Angel Food may be named as a beneficiary of qualified retirement plan assets, bank and brokerage accounts, and life insurance policies. To name Project Angel Food as a beneficiary, simply share our address (922 Vine Street, Los Angeles, CA 90038) and Tax ID (95-4115863) with the administrator of your account or policy.

WILLS – Bequests from donors like you are allocated directly to our Reserve Fund which is essential for our long term fiscal health. Including Project Angel Food in your will or living trust may be done with language as simple as:  I give to Project Angel Food, a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization incorporated by the laws of the State of California, having its principal office at 922 Vine Street, Los Angeles, California, 90038, the sum of $___ (or, __ percentage of my estate) (or, ___ percentage of my residuary estate) for its general corporate purposes.

CHARITABLE TRUSTS – Charitable Trusts may be set up to reduce your estate tax liability to zero. How does it work? Appreciating assets are transferred into a lead trust; funds from the trust are distributed to Project Angel Food for a term (length of term set at your discretion); at the end of the term, the balance of the lead trust passes to your heir(s). Further, your heir(s) will pay no capital gains tax on appreciation of the assets during the term.

HOLIDAY GIFTS

You can bring joy to these underserved families by donating new toys, books, DVDs, CDs, gift cards, stuffed animals, and tickets to movies, theme parks, or educational experiences like the California Science Center or Aquarium of the Pacific. In 2019, we delivered holiday gift bags to 220 children ages 1 – 17. To donate to the Holiday Gift Program, please contact Client Services at (323) 845-1810.
