Full-Time Temporary Receptionist

Job Summary
The Receptionist will greet, assist, and provide direction and information to clients, volunteers, visitors, and other guests of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets clients, volunteers, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person’s visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location.
  • Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.
  • Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
  • Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate and reports to the Administrative Manager with pressing inquiries.

Abilities, Skill, and Qualification

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

BI-LINGUAL, FULL-TIME CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

Job Summary

A Client Services Coordinator is responsible for the intake and recertification processes and for the day-to-day work of responding to inquiries from clients and their caregivers, coordinating deliveries, and collaborating with other departments. The position is part of the Client Services department, reporting to the Client Services Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Excellent administrative support and customer service, including answering phones and email, data entry, and problem-solving.
  • Compassionately processing applications from potential clients. Conducting telephonic intake interviews. Recertifying clients. Client outreach. Making and receiving referrals.
  • Responding accurately, promptly, and sensitively to questions and concerns from clients, their caregivers, and their medical and social work support teams.
  • Obtaining and communicating information regarding deliveries to ensure successful daily delivery of food.  
  • Promptly entering data into the electronic records, including of each client interaction, and maintaining accurate and complete files. Helping to collect, maintain, and provide information for compliance, communications, and grants.
  • Assisting in specific periodic projects, such as holiday toys and meals.
  • Periodically representing Project Angel Food at public functions. Participating in occasional agency events.
  • Abiding by applicable privacy laws and policies.
  • Showing a friendly and compassionate clients-first attitude. Professionally collaborating with other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Abilities, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Successful experience in an office-based customer service position.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Social work case management experience preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional, friendly demeanor and ability to interact sensitively and compassionately with clients who live with critical illness.

Associate Director of Human Resources

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Administration and Operations, the Associate Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing an exceptional level of support to employees and managers at Project Angel Food. The Associate Director of Human Resources plays a key role in the management of documentation and data for most HR business processes including onboarding, off boarding, payroll, employee changes and recruitment. The Associate Director of Human Resources will also be involved in HR program and policy development as well as support execution of our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy. The ideal candidate is passionate about HR, equity and inclusion, and delivering a valuable service to the agency. You will enjoy proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.  We are looking for candidates who have an aptitude for detail and a gift for innovative thinking.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support the coordination of interviews, references, and documentation for staff hiring
  • Follow up on hiring decisions and distribute, complete, and process paperwork for new hires
  • Work with employees to answer benefits questions and assist in processing benefit changes due to qualifying events and open enrollment elections
  • Conduct new hire orientation and benefits orientation to build a strong foundation for new employees and increase employee engagement
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures
  • Support the coordination of the exit process for departing employees
  • Assist in scheduling and communications leading up to performance reviews
  • Support the implementation of employee engagement tools
  • Participate in on-going agency disaster response planning

Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary

The Major Gifts Officer will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective major donors with the goal of expanding their financial support. Officer will be responsible for meeting an annual revenue target by working with an assigned portfolio of donors, developing new prospects to advance our mission, and assisting donors to bring enhanced meaning into their lives through agency support. Officer will be data fluent to successfully leverage our database, strategically and consistently manage major donor outreach, assess donors giving capacity and implement using our management software. This position reports directly to the Director of Philanthropy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Raise funds for the organization: develop ongoing relationships with current major donors and prospects; develop and cultivate new relationships with individual and corporate prospects that support food insecurity, hunger, nutrition, medicine, poverty, homelessness and LGBTQ platforms.
  • Responsible for minimum annual fundraising goals including both renewable gifts and incremental revenue.
  • Develop and execute ongoing strategies for qualifying and elevating prospects; encourage donors to become Circle of Angels members and manage member fulfillment and recognition.
  • Qualify prospects and elevate them to donor status through small cultivation events, research and community networking; 30% of portfolio is expected to be newly sourced by Major Gifts Officer.
  • Design customized solicitation strategies targeting organization objectives and maintain daily donor records in database following donor contact.
  • Create and maintain monthly reports that outline fundraising commitments and prepare private and public acknowledgments to thank donors.
  • Participate in agency signature events and cultivation activities, and recommend qualified donors to meet with Executive Director and Director of Philanthropy.
  • Meet with other members of the organization to ensure that objectives and initiatives align.
  • Meet regularly with Director of Philanthropy to review ongoing donor identification, gift procurement strategies, and stewardship and cultivation efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Abilities, Skills and Qualification

  • A solid understanding of finance and budgeting; ability to forecast and track revenue and expenses.
  • Persuasive and compassionate communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; a solid grammarian with proven ability to compose successful fundraising content.
  • Sets organization goals, exhibits strong planning skills and successfully executes multiple tasks at once.
  • Extensive database experience, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT platforms preferred.
  • Someone who is energized, motivated by, and passionate about, Project Angel Food’s mission of providing nutritious food, love, and comfort to people who are critically ill.
  • Bachelor’s degree required: public relations, communications, finance or related field is preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five years of successful major gifts leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of fundraising by personally making contacts, cultivating and effectively closing major gifts.
  • Verifiable history of consistently raising funds at major levels of support.

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals to clients on all routes that have been assigned
  • Communicating with dispatch manager ,supervisors and client services department any problems with routes, deliveries and reporting client concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of meals, mileage, hours and other Dispatch paperwork performing basic van and equipment maintenance.
  • Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading and unloading the van.

Abilities, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, experience driving and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Los Angeles County and familiarity with using navigation systems.
  • Knowledge of how to handle materials, such as food or items.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity to persons suffering with various critical illnesses.
  • Time management to ensure deliveries are made.
