FULL-TIME DRIVER/PACKER

Salary

Job Summary

Project Angel Food prepares and delivers healthy meal to people impacted by serious illness, bringing comfort and hope every day. Our drivers are responsible for delivering these meals to over 2,300 clients every week in throughout Los Angeles County.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals to clients on all routes that have been assigned
  • Communicating with dispatch manager, supervisors and client services department any problems with routes, deliveries and reporting client concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of meals, mileage, hours and other Dispatch paperwork
  • Performing basic van and equipment maintenance.
  • Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading and unloading the van.
  • Counts, measures, and sort materials and products.
  • Removes defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas for handling.
  • Examines containers, products, and materials for quality control and ensures packing requirements are met.
  • Marks and labels containers, container tags, labels, or products.
  • Enters packing, order, and product information in or on required forms, records, or other documents.
  • Stacks Foam boxes.
  • Loads products and materials into foam boxes, bags and carts.
  • Transports packages to customer’s vehicles, loading areas, or other specified zones.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Abilities, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, experience driving and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Los Angeles County and familiarity with using navigation systems.
  • Knowledge of how to handle materials, such as food or items.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity to persons suffering with various critical illnesses.
  • Time management to ensure deliveries are made and meal and materials are packed.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, walk long distances and regularly lift or move items up to 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assess products for quality compliance.
  • Basic understanding of principles and processes of customer service.
  • Ability to work during regular delivery hours (Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm or later).
  • Ability to work occasional Sunday or holiday shifts as needed.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Job Summary:

The Chef is responsible for daily meal production and kitchen work assignment for Project Angel Food.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist in the production of meals including prep, cooking, and packaging meals.
  • Direct the proper opening, set up, and closing of the kitchen on a daily basis.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers in maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety in accordance with the agency Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Supervision and orientation and work of volunteers in the kitchen.
  • Preparation of food for in-house meetings and other functions.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the kitchen at least one day per week including completion of the daily food production schedule.
  • Delegation of work assignments to volunteers, chef trainees, kitchen assistants, and dishwashers.

Abilities, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Culinary and food hygiene skills for volume meal production.
  • 1-2 years experience in high-volume food production, such as schools or hospitals.
  • Ability to supervise and delegate work to staff and volunteers.
  • Able to endure physically demanding work such as lifting, standing, preparing, and cooking food for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environment with a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to work Sundays and holidays as needed.

Major Gifts Officer

Job Title:  Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary:

The Major Gifts Officer will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective major donors (annual gifts of $1,500+) with the goal of expanding their financial support. Officer will be responsible for meeting an annual revenue target and participate in the achievement of FY23 Major Gift Revenue goal of $2.XX MM. Officer will be data fluent to successfully leverage our database, strategically and consistently manage major donor outreach, assess donors giving capacity and implement using our management software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Circle of Angels (COA) program; COA members donate $1,500 or more annually. Develop and execute ongoing strategies for donor recruitment, retention, and upgrades. Manage stewardship, renewal process, recognition, and benefit fulfillment.
  • Manage renewal process for COA members; generate 60- and 30-day letters.
  • Responsible for a portfolio of 150 donor households. Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward assigned donors.
  • Participate in agency signature events and cultivation activities; serve as point person for all events that contain an ask and be responsible for reaching goals.
  • Manage annual Garden Party stewardship/solicitation event including recruiting, managing, and directing the host committee.
  • Manage and execute quarterly CEO Impact Report including content sourcing and creation and contribute to other fundraising communications as needed.
  • Meet with other members of the organization to ensure that program objectives and development initiatives align.
  • Meet regularly with Director of Special Projects to review ongoing donor identification, solicitation strategies, and stewardship and cultivation efforts. Recommend qualified donors to meet with Chief Executive Officer and Director of Special Projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent relationship-building skills; ability to connect and empathize with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Persuasive and compassionate communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; a solid grammarian with proven ability to compose successful fundraising content.
  • A solid understanding of finance and budgeting; ability to forecast and track revenue and expenses.
  • Sets organization goals, exhibits strong planning skills and successfully executes multiple tasks at once.
  • Extensive database experience, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT platforms preferred.
  • Someone who is energized, motivated by, and passionate about, Project Angel Food’s mission of providing nutritious food, love, and comfort to people who are critically ill.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required: public relations, communications, finance or related field is preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five years of successful major gifts leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of fundraising by personally making contacts, cultivating and effectively closing major gifts.
  • Verifiable history of consistently raising funds at major levels of support.
