Project Angel Food prepares and delivers healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illness, bringing comfort and hope every day. We cook and deliver over 500,000 nutritious meals each year, free of charge, to the homes of men, women, and children affected by life-threatening illnesses. Part-Time Temp. Driver

Job Title:  Part-Time Temp. Driver 

Department:  Dispatch

Reports to:  Dispatch Manager


Job Summary

The Part-Time Temp. Driver is responsible for delivering meals toProject Angel Food clients

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals to clients on all routes that have been assigned
  • Report any problems with routes, deliveries and reporting client concerns
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, hours and other Dispatch paperwork
  • Maintain van and equipment


Skills and Abilities

  • Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, experience driving and reliable transportation
  • Excellent knowledge of Los Angeles County
  • Sensitivity to persons suffering with various critical illnesses
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, walk long distances and regularly lift or move items up to 30 to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work during regular delivery hours(Monday – Friday 7:00am – 2:00 pm)
  • Ability to work occasional Sunday or holiday shifts as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Registered Dietitian


 Job Title:  Registered Dietitian 

Department:  Nutrition Services

Reports to:  Associate Director ofNutrition Services


Job Summary

 TheRegistered Dietitian (RD) provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to clients inProject Angel Food’s various programs. The RD also works closely with a team of Dietitians to provide services based on the needs of Project Angel Food and as stipulated by the quality assurance manual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with a wide range of nutrition-related diseases and populations. Proficient knowledge of Congestive Heart Failure and Chronic Kidney Disease preferred.
  • Performs client nutrition assessments and follow-ups by phone and/or in clients home on a daily basis.
  • Works with other departments at Project Angel Food to ensure clients are receiving appropriate meals and information when necessary.  
  • Interacts with clients’ health care providers on a regular basis as needed.
  • Refers and advocates for clients to other service providers when appropriate.
  • Collaborates with foodservice staff on recipe development and analysis.
  • Works with the Nutrition Services team on menu development, new program implementation, surveys, and data evaluation.
  • Works closely with local organizations involved in nutrition research and/or care for patients with a variety of serious health conditions.
  • Participates in department, agency and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.


Skills and Abilities

  • Registered Dietitian with community experience and knowledge of serious illnesses
  • Knowledge of Foodservice,Recipe Analysis and Quality Control.
  • Sensitivity to the circumstances and needs of people living with serious illnesses.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexible in adapting to changing situations.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office:Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid license, auto insurance and proof of good driving record.  Must be comfortable going to clients home throughout Los Angeles County.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

Salary Range

 $60,000- $65,000

  • Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas and offices of the building.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging pipes.

  • Ability to interact with staff and visitors at work location while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assembling food product containers and packaging and maintaining the kitchen and related facilities.

  • Responsible for assembling food product containers and packaging in the correct manner.
  • Seal and label containers with the appropriate materials with product information.
  • Assists with organizing serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas.
  • Assists in maintaining kitchen supplies.
  • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Certified in Food Safety and Food Handler.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to understand and meet kitchen standards for health, safety, and excellence.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Have experience with performing repetitive tasks with efficiency and ease.
