This Thanksgiving, as you gather with loved ones, please share the warmth of the season with Project Angel Food and those we serve through your generosity. The lives of critically ill individuals are transformed because of your support for our mission of providing healing meals and compassionate care. As you embrace your family, take a moment for the unseen neighbor who, without us, might suffer alone, just like Laya.
Laya, a 74-year-old, faces numerous debilitating health challenges. Her days are frequently consumed by hospital visits, chronic ailments, and, before Project Angel Food, the relentless struggle to secure nourishment. She says Project Angel Food is a lifeline and looks forward to the company of our delivery volunteers.
This Thanksgiving, she will receive a traditional turkey meal prepared in our kitchen, and it will be made even more special because it will be delivered directly by volunteers like 15-year-old Jackson Bunnin and his13-year-old brother Asher. Their family has made it a Thanksgiving tradition to deliver meals and bring joy to those who might otherwise feel alone.
More than 200 volunteers will join us to deliver these beautiful turkey dinners with all the fixings and dessert, each accompanied by a special Thanksgiving placemat with a message of support from donors like you. Emmy-winning icon Betty White loved this custom and returned her Thanksgiving placemat every year, simply signed, "Love Betty." The recipients never knew they held a Golden Girl’s autograph!
We want to give you the opportunity to continue Betty’s tradition. Please donate what you can: $10,$20, $50, or more if you feel moved to do so. Then, sign our virtual Thanksgiving placemat to let our most vulnerable neighbors know they are not alone. Sign the Virtual Thanksgiving Placemat here www.angelfood.org/placemat.
