Today, the nonprofit organization Project Angel Food announced a partnership with UTA for the annual Angel Art, ART=LOVE benefit auction on May 9, 2019. The announcement was made by Project Angel Food Executive Director Richard Ayoub, who will host the event at the Ai Weiwei-designed UTA Artist Space, which opened in Beverly Hills last year.
Celebrating its 24th year, the annual Angel Art, ART = LOVE event is Los Angeles’ preeminent annual contemporary art auction that has raised more than $11 million for Project Angel Food, which continues to provide meals for thousands of men, women and children facing life threatening illnesses. Over the years, many prominent artists have contributed works to the auction and have donated the proceeds to benefit Project Angel Food’s free meal delivery program. In previous years, auction attendees have included Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Tom Ford, Jane Lynch, Adrien Brody, Brendan Fraser, Naomi Watts and Eric McCormack, among others.
“This UTA partnership is the perfect intersection of entertainment, philanthropy and the arts. Not only is UTA providing their beautiful Beverly Hills Artist Space, but they are also underwriting a significant portion of the event. The agency is truly committed to making this one of the most successful Angel Art, ART = LOVE benefits ever,” said Richard Ayoub, Executive Director, Project Angel Food.
“Since the inception of the UTA Foundation over 15 years ago, our employees have volunteered nearly 4,000 hours preparing healthy and nutritious meals in Project Angel Food’s kitchen. We’re very aligned with the organization’s mission of helping the most vulnerable in our community and thrilled to build on our relationship,” said Rene Jones, Partner & Global Head of Philanthropy, UTA Foundation.
UTA Artist Space is an extension of the agency’s commitment to the Los Angeles arts scene as much as it is a venue for showcasing global talent and new work. The venue continues UTA’s history of helping artists gain access to new and better opportunities; it solidifies UTA’s reputation as a forward-thinking agency devoted to expanding and redefining the role of talent and literary agencies globally.
This year, the 2019 Angel Art, ART=LOVE Advisory Council includes participation from across the agency and its partnership. Additionally, Beth Rudin DeWoody and Firooz Zahedi will chair the event and Kimberly Light and Tim Robinson will serve as co-chairs.
