Project Angel Food is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Board Members, Diana Bianchini , Illse Faye, Tanvir Hussain and Emanuel Ponzo. These four accomplished individuals bring a plethora of talent and ability to the non-profit organization and will be a welcome addition to the list of Board Members.

Diana Bianchini is the head of Di Moda Public Relations, championing clients dedicated to innovative design, community growth and social impact. Her insightful abilities have made Di Moda synonymous with building lifestyle brands. Prior to starting her own company, Diana worked in fashion PR for brands including Hugo Boss, Swarovski and Stuart Weitzman.  Diana has an unwavering commitment to socially conscious philanthropy and service in both her professional and personal life. She has served as a Board Member and Board Chair of the Los Angeles Leadership Board, Arthritis Foundation and Event Chair and Co-Chair for numerous non-profit galas in Los Angeles and New York. She is an endowed scholar and graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ilise Faye is Head of School – Hollywood Schoolhouse, a private school administrator with more than 25 years’ experience in every facet of successfully running day-to-day operations of the Hollywood Schoolhouse, a diverse non-profit, independent school located in Los Angeles. Her responsibilities include managing all staff, transitioning families into the school experience, classroom teaching, mentoring staff and children, parent education, development, fundraising, and marketing. She ensures the school is current in all facets of education, while continuing to meet the needs of its community and was a key player in the transition of the Hollywood Schoolhouse from a for-profit to a non-profit institution. Illse has a BA in English Literature from California State University, Northridge and Early Childhood Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Tanvir Hussain is a certified cardiologist American Board of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine – Internal Medicine, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, National Board of Echocardiography and California Radiologic Health Branch Flouroscopy License. Tanvir has a Clinical Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of Southern California Los Angeles and Cardiovascular Epidemiology & Preventive Cardiology from Harvard Medical School. His current medical practice involves taking care of patients throughout south and south central Los Angeles. For four years as a college student he had his own delivery route for Meal-on Wheels.

Dr. Hussain was educated at Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, MA,  University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, AR.  He holds both a BA Philosophy, Rhodes College, Memphis, TN  and a B.A. Biology, Rhodes College, Memphis, TN.

Emanuele Ponzo owns two companies in Italy and one in Malta. A&E and legal and administrative service, APE Service working only with public companies and ASAP Business Ltd, a real estate company. He graduated in International Business Law at LUM University in Bari, Italy and was a consultant for several Italian food industry companies before becoming an independent contractor, developing company strategies in partnership and sales in the restaurant, hotel and catering industry.

Since 1989 Project Angel Food has prepared and delivered over 11 million meals – currently 11,000 per week – free of charge to men, women and children living with critical illnesses. Project Angel Food expanded its initial mission from serving people living with HIV/AIDS to include medically tailored meals, prepared by the staff and volunteers, for those combatting cancer, kidney failure, diabetes, congestive heart disease and other illnesses. The mission has always remained intact, to feed and nourish the sick, by delivering healthy, nutritious meals throughout 4,400 square miles of LA County. More than 97% of Project Angel Food clients are living below the poverty level, and Project Angel Food is their lifeline, filling a vital need in all communities. The client demographics are testimony to this, 37% Latino, 29% African-American, 22% Caucasian, 6% Asian/Pacific Islander, 1% Native American and 5% Multicultural.
