Project Angel Food invites you to join us for our Annual Angel Awards Gala on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at our headquarters in Hollywood. One of LA’s most enduring events on the summer calendar, the gala is hosted in our parking lot which is transformed into a spectacular outdoor ballroom under the stars! Project Angel Food will celebrate 30 years of service – preparing and delivering 11.5 million medically tailored meals to the most vulnerable in our community.
This year we are excited to announce that Actor, producer, author and advocate Jamie Lee Curtis will receive the Project Angel Food Humanitarian Angel Award, and philanthropists and skincare creationists of Retrouve and Kiehl’s Since 1851, Jami Morse Heidegger and Klaus Heidegger will be honored with the Project Angel Food Leadership Award.
“Jamie Lee Curtis and Jami and Klaus Heidegger have been involved with Project Angel Food for well over two decades and they are not afraid to throw on an apron, roll-up their sleeves and get involved,” says Executive Director Richard Ayoub.
The 30th anniversary will also include a special appearance by Marianne Williamson, Presidential hopeful and founder of Project Angel Food.
California legend Danny Trejo will be curating a special fiesta menu for the night’s event with his culinary team. Trejo opened his first restaurant, Trejo’s Tacos, in 2016. His taco trucks can be seen at every L.A. Rams home game. Trejo has eight different restaurant locations within the Los Angeles area, including his cantina and donut stand with vegan and gluten free options.
The 2019 Angel Awards will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Project Angel Food and the heart and spirit of volunteerism which has helped the organization continue and expand its vital work for three decades.
Angel Awards is Project Angel Food’s premier fundraiser held at the home of our medically tailored meal program – proceeds go directly toward operating costs – 85 cents of every dollar purchases food, fuel and other essential supplies to cook, package and deliver free, nutritious meals to more than 1,400 men, women and children living with life-threatening illnesses in LA County.
We couldn’t do what we do without Angels like you!
