Angel Art 2019 ART=LOVE took place on May 9, 2019, at the UTA Art Space in Beverly Hills, raising $440,000 to benefit Project Angel Food, an organization that prepares and delivers meals to people living with life-threatening illnesses throughout the Los Angeles area.

Among the 300 guests in attendance were actresses Jennifer Tilly and Joely Fisher, comedian Hal Sparks, influencer/producer Diana Madison, Executive Director of Project Angel Food Richard Ayoub,  Honorary Chairs Beth Rudin DeWoody and Firooz Zahedi, and honorary Co-Chairs Tim Robinson and Kimberly Light.

The largest single sale of the evening was Ed Ruscha’s original Tiny Topic donated by the artist and Gagosian, which sold to collector Beth Rudin DeWoody for $51,000.  Another highlight of the evening when Jennifer Tilly took to the stage to model a diamond and 18k white gold bracelet courtesy of David Yurman, leaving celebrity auctioneer Gabriel Butu-Boyer speechless.  Tilly placed the winning bid on the jewelry.  Initial proceeds from the event total $440,000, a nine percent increase over 2018 Angel Art sales.  That number is expected to rise with post-event, direct-to-collector sales.

Since 1989, Project Angel Food has been the loving neighbor who knows that food is medicine, food is love, and food nourishes the soul. Staff and volunteers have delivered almost 12 million meals free of charge to men, women and children living with critical illnesses: HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney failure, diabetes, heart disease and other illnesses.  1,400 meals are delivered each day to a diverse population throughout the 4,400 square miles of Los Angeles County.
